River City Rising is a weekly, community-led gathering in Evansville, IN rooted in mutual aid, free expression, and collective action. We meet every Sunday at 2 PM at the corner of MLK & Main St, where neighbors come together to share resources, host free shops, exchange ideas, organize peacefully, and build connections.
River City Rising is decentralized by design. No single organization controls the day. People organize themselves, collaborate, and support one another to create a living, community-driven gathering each week. The calendar is simply a tool to help us share space, amplify voices, and keep the flow running smoothly while the movement grows from the ground up.
Community members can view what’s planned and add their own activities at: Teamup. This helps avoid scheduling conflicts and ensures there’s space for different kinds of participation throughout the day.
Speakers and performances must request stage time in advance to keep programming balanced. To request the stage, email rivercityrising@outlook.com and a community member will be in touch.
